VISA REFUSAL
I have been refused a visa. What
can I do about it_
If you are refused a visa you will
be given a notice from a Visa Officer explaining why your application
has been refused. You will also be told whether you have the right
to appeal against the refusal and given details of those rights.
You are usually given the right to appeal if you have applied for
a visa for a stay of more than six months.
If you have the right of appeal you
will be given 28 days from the date of your refusal to send your
appeal notice to the Embassy. Once the Embassy has received your
appeal the decision will be reviewed. If the decision is to be maintained
the appeal will be sent the Home Office for forwarding to the Independent
Appellate Authority (IAA). The IAA then arranges for the facts of
the appeal to be considered at a hearing by an independent adjudicator.
